"Celebrate your Country Independence by Blowing up a Piece of It"

Hi everyone! i hope that everyone had a great 4th of July weekend! For me, I am very greatful that I am only spending one 4th of July Here because i didnt blow anything up!! i remember this one time i bought fireworks from the reservation and then i set them off from my back yard. What I didnt relieze is that they went up into the air!! then about 5 seconds later my mom came out! then i was never allowed to use fireworks ever again...despite the fact it is illegal to use any type of fireworks in arizona...thats what i love about the reservation...as long as you dont kill anyone your good. lol.
This week we were able to teach a family about the Resortation of the Church of Jesus Christ's church, and invited the whole family to be baptized! The mother and her 3 children said that they want to get baptized but the father wasnt too sure about it. He has his doubts, but I am not too sure how much he is into religion. The familia Orenlas said that they would come to church but they didnt come! i was so sad!! We tried to call them and ask them why they didnt come but they didnt pick up. so, we are going to stop by their house this wed for our appointment and see what is going on with them.
Another family that we got to visit was Luis, Irma, and Christen. Luis and Irma are brother and sister who are about 50 years old, and Christen is 21 and the daughter or Irma. We went over the 5 steps of the things that we need to do but they know they need to get baptized, but they are lazy! for the last 3 weeks they been telling is that they are going to church, but they never come. they always makes up some lame excuses why they didnt come. but their family situtation is hard because Luis is an alcoholic, and the doctors told him if he didn't quit drinking, he is going to die withing 5 years. While Irma had a ex-husband that wants her back but he is no good for her. He used to abuse her and her daughter. That family needs some serious help, and probably professional help. Irma knows that the gospel will change her life, but the sad part is that she isnt willing to act, and she takes responsibility for not acting. so this maybe the last time we see that family, unless they act in some way!!
Another person we saw for 10 mins was Norma Vasquez, she is just waiting for her divorvce so that she can marry her boyfriend then get baptized. The only bad thing is that she has to wait 90 days before her divorce is finalized, and i think she said that she has waited around 20 days, so she still has a long way to go!
Anyother random note, my sister was telling me how bad she is playing volleyball and then that same day we went and played sand volleyball and yah...i was BAD!!!! but then again i havent played in forever, but i still got to shut up some elders that think they are all that in volleyball...
Another random note, Iris, had her baptismal interview and her boyfriend was waiting till she was done, so we played a little one on one. and if you know me i can play basketball but im not good a basketball. haha. lets just say that he was easy, and i took of advantage of his kindness. and i beat him 7-4. lets just say that i probably fouled him and took one to many steps.
oh yah we have a baptism this week for Iris! she is getting baptized this sunday and she is super excited to get baptized! i love the enthusiasm that the people have right before their baptizsm. haha. well i love you all and miss you!!!
love always,
Hermana Annie Beetso
