Learning Experience

HI EVERYONE!!!
So this week was so much fun! This week we were able to meet with the Ornles family, the mom and two of her children both have baptismal dates, and we got to have a family home evening! We taught them about the importance of prayer and then we made prayer rocks! The kids loved coloring rocks, and I even made a rock 2! So, then they had their baptismal interview and they are all set to go. But we might push back their baptismal date to see if the father will get baptized with them because we want all of them to get baptized together. If the father feels like he is going to be ready soon we are going to push back the date, and if he think he is going to take a while we are just going to go though with the baptism.
When I was in Grand Prairie South, we taught a mom and her son, and they wanted to get baptized but they weren’t too sure because she needs to see the Mexican council so that she can get an ID to get a divorce, and I guess she got it. Now, she just needs to get married, but she is going to go visit her boyfriend in Oklahoma for three weeks. We suggested that maybe she should get married in OK, but she looked at us like we are crazy! We are trying to put pressure on her that she can get married then get baptized because she has almost been taught for a year and it is her turn to get baptized!
On Friday I had the opportunity to go to Irving for splits, so I went with Hermana Davy, lets just say that it was an interesting time because we got lost because Hermana Davy doesn’t really know her area, so we spent a lot of time searching for our appointment and even dinner. I got to know a little but more of Iriving, Texas but what I did learn is that Hermana Davy doesn’t teach lessons but she teaches people. I have gotten in that habit of just teaching, but I do forget sometimes, about teaching real people. And it was a good reminder that I need to stop teaching lessons but people.
This week we found a less active member who has a wife who isn't a member. this week we went to visit a family but then we were done, and we were thinking who could we visit. then we found a name in the old history and we found this name. we went to their house and it happens to be a Return missionary who hasn't been to church in 10 years and his wife. his wife has been having problems with her heath and he wanted to go to church so that he can find someone to give her a blessing. but he has been praying for a month and all of a sudden we showed up at his door. he said that we are an answer to his prayer because we were able to find some people from church to give her a blessing. now, he says that he will get back into church but it will take some time. Well everyone i hope that you had a great week!!!
love always,
Hermana Annie Beetso
