Happy Thanksgiving :)
HI everyone! Are we excited for Thanksgiving? Before the mission it was all about Black Friday!!! But sad I won’t be able to participate this year and next year…But that’s ok because I’ll make up for it when I get back to Arizona!
This week was fun! We had an appointment with Jose and Cynthia and there three kids. It was a good lesson but we kinda stayed there way too long. We stayed there for about an hour and a half. Which is not good, at all. Well, Jose is willing to read and he wants to learn more but Cynthia could careless. From what I’ve seen, it’s all about the husband. Whatever he says, the wife has to follow, in most cases. So Cynthia is just going with the flow. I could not be a wife in the Hispanic man, I like to express my opinions a lot if it is wanted or not. Ya’ll know what I mean! Haha.
The Elders found another person, in the laundry room. Her name is Melisa. Melisa lives with her daughter and her sister, Tamara! And Tamara’s daughter and Tamara’s boyfriend, Omar. Omar and Tamara don’t seem interested but Melisa does. Melisa is really sweet and we are excited to go back and visit her again.
Haha…so the goal for the Plano Stake is to have every family member give out a Book of Mormon to someone in November. So, Hermana Richardson and I have been visiting families to coaching them on how to give one out. Because let’s face it, giving out a Book of Mormon is probably the most scaring thing someone could do. Because I know I was afraid of giving them out before the mission, and now I’m anxious to give one out like every day, well at least one. So we were visiting the Del Angles family, the wife is a recent convert who was baptized in August. And we were teaching the family how to give out a Book of Mormon, then we were about to leave. So, we were going to leave with a prayer. Brother Del Angles asked his youngest son to give the prayer. So he stared out the Prayer, “Dear Heavenly Father, please bless my family, the people…etc.” Then the last sentence he said was, “Please Bless my mom that she won’t come home smelling like alcohol. Amen.” Because my Spanish isn’t perfect I wasn’t sure if I heard it right. Then Hermana Richardson was like well, thanks for your time and we will see you later! At this moment I looked at Sister Del Angles and her face was priceless! Then when we got into the car, Hermana Richardson was like did you hear what he said? And I was like no…then she said that basically his mom still drinks! And she didn’t want to make it awkward so we like left so fast!! I was like WOW!
Anyways, this week we went tracking and found a Less Active name Douglas. He was baptized in Gutamala! And never found the church when he got here to the states. So we set up an appointment with Douglas and we found out that he lives with 6 other people in a two bed room apartment! Then we also foundout that another person living with Douglas is a Less Active who was baptized in Honduras! (2nd Best Mission next to Texas) Then there friend Richard, who seem interested about our message! We went back for the appointment we set up and his friend Richard seems like he wanted to listen to our message and is willing to come to church! But guess what? He has to work! What a surprised? Not really. But he says he is coming to the Spanish Branch Thanksgiving dinner. So im excited about that! He is going to come and love it! And never wants to leave! Because we are just that awesome.
Well, guess who came to church!!!! JO!!! You have no idea how much Jo put us though to get him to church. Jo doesn’t have a car so Sister Richardson and I make arragemnts for someone to pick him up with his kids. We wanted to make sure that Jo came to church so we stop by his apartment and no one answered the door. But the car of his babies’ mama was in front so I knew Jo was home. So Hermana Richardson and I knocked on his door for 20mins! Finally he answered! he was in the bathroom shaving his kid’s head. So he said he would come to church but he didn’t have a ride and the ride we arragned already left for church. (Church starts at 2:30om and it was like 2:20pm). So he asked his babies’mama to take him. From some stories that I heard about her, she wasn’t going to do it. And she did. She took Jo and her kids to church! Which is a miracle!!!!! So she went to sacrament, only, then took the kids home, with her.
Jo stayed for all three hours and he knew everything! He knows a lot! The Elders were impressed about how much he knew! Hermana Richardson and I were so happy!!! Next step, get him baptized! So this week, I want to set up a date with him!! So Jo is going to get baptized! That is my goal! I will not leave Plano until he get baptize!

A Servant Of The Lord Just Sent A Mosquito To The Celestial Kingdom.
HI everyone!
Well this week has been fun! We found 10 new investigators! Most of them are families! We found them with the help of the Elders in an English Ward. One of the English ward held a Blitz (just a ton of people knocking doors in a certain part of town). And they found about 8 people who spoke only Spanish (or prefers Spanish over English). So we found them and taught them about the gospel and why we are different from other churches. As a whole mission, we are focusing on the Book of Mormon and why we need additional scripture in these latter days. Like Jo said last week, in the Bible, there is a beginning, middle, but no end. And we explain how the Book of Mormon is the end, to help clarify.
This week we meet with Chellie and her Sister Delia. I got to meet there father, who is recovering from a stroke. They seem to like us coming over and Chellie is reading from the Book of Mormon but Delia isn’t. I think she doesn’t know how to read or she can’t see the words, because she needs glasses (which she can’t find). So Hermana Richardson and I are going to find the Book of Mormon on CD so that they can at least listen to the Book of Mormon. It’s hard for them to come to church because they are out of town like every weekend!! Like this past weekend they went camping, but I know they will come to church!
A family that we found is the Vaszques family. The father name is Jose and the mother is Cynthia. They are both from Mexico, and their children were born here in the states. We were just going to ask him what he thought about the Book of Mormon and just little questions like that. He told us he doesn’t want to come and join our church until he read the Book of Mormon. My companion and I were like AWESOME!! Usually, that is the biggest problem, getting investigators to read and I thought that was great. He wants to read, we don’t have to push him! We haven’t followed up yet, but we have an appointment with him tonight, and we will see if he has any questions.
Well news about my favorite investigators Jo. We sent Jo to a fireside; an Area 70 was speaking to the Spanish branches/wards. It was hard getting Jo to the fireside because it was for people 14 and up and he has 2 kids. So called like everyone to see if someone could babysit. We started calling people at 6:15pm and the fireside started at 7:00pm. Haha. It was a miracle that Nina was able to babysit Jo’s children! Hermana Richardson and I know that we own Nina bigtime! But in the end Jo was able to go and Jo loved it. It seemed like his questions were being answered. I think he finally knows the church’s position about the family, and how the family is essential to the gospel. He said that he loved that fireside because he felt peace and I told him if he would come to church he would feel it every week. He smiled and knew that he needs to come to church. From the fireside, I didn’t understand everything but from what I got, it was very good. For example, the Area 70 talked about temptation and how we can overcome temptation by 1. Praying 2. Reading the scriptures everyday, 3. Family Home Evening. Which is true, and how the mistakes we made in the past will affect the rest of our lives. That’s what I got. Hermana Richardson and I are happy that Jo went because he was able to feel the spirit and hopefully, know that we are here from God so that he can have a personal relationship with God.
Here is just a funny side note. The Area 70 had a Q and A session and someone asked, “What is the point of a singles ward? Is it to take always the children from their family ward?” He responded, “To Get Married!” haha I just thought that was funny because he was very blunt about his answer.
Here is a great analogy about faith. So you know how everyone tells you that mosquitoes suck up blood. So just because I’m from Phoenix I like never, ever in my life got bitten by a mosquito, in Phx. So I just assumed it was true. (That’s the Faith Part). Then I found a mosquito and killed it, with my hands. Then guess what came out? Blood! Now, I know for a fact that mosquitoes do suck up blood. because I killed one and got someone blood on me. I pray that it was mine.

I'll Slap You Holy
HI everyone! How are we doing this week? This week has been more eventful than last week. This week started out with Maria and Paloma. Maria is the mother and Paloma is the daughter, she is 11, and turning 12 this Friday. They are like ready to be baptized but it’s the pressure that Maria is feeling. But she has a testimony of the Book of Mormon, but Hermama Richardson and I are not going to pressure her, but help her influence her to say, hey I think it is time for me to get baptized.
I got to see Hermana Vaszque baptized! It was amazing! She is taking the next step to be sealed to her family for Time and All Eternity! But she is moving to Columba within 7 days, im just sad that I’m probably never going to see her again. She is an amazing woman, and how she knows what she wants and is willing to do anything to get it. Honesty, I have never felt the sprit so strong at a baptism. Im just in shock that someone I taught is now a member! But it breaks my heart that she is moving to Columba, but at least she knows that the church is true, and that Joseph Smith was a prophet called from God.
This week we found a new investigator, her name is Chellie, and she is the friend of Sister Lewis. Sister Lewis gave a Book of Mormon to Chellie. And Chellie would read any random passage and she would feel peace, calmness, and the satisfaction that whatever trials she was having, everything would be alright. Chellie background is that she is taking care of her father, who had a stroke. Pllus, her son is having problems with school and I think the law. So her situation is tough, but she can’t understand the feeling that she has when she reads about the Book of Mormon. So, I just told her it was the spirit, so she understands but not completely. I know she will get baptized.
I am going to baptized a guy name Jo (Jose), he has a lot of questions about life and many practices, and he questioned the Catholic Church. Jo has this phrase, "I'll Slap you Holy." he says that a lot to his newphews that are misbehaving. he would take the Book of Mormon or The Bible and hold it up high and say If you don’t behave I’ll slap you Holy. that is like the funniest phrase ive ever heard. anyways, jo said that church always tell you assume what they are taching you is true, and not to question their teachings. But he told my companion and I that he has been reading the Bible. The Bible has a lot of answer but they are complete. He said, “There is a beginning and middle, but there is no end. That’s what I like about the Book of Mormon there is a beginning, middle, and an end. It explains the purpose of certain practices.” When I heard him say that I’m like hey sounds like you know the Book of Mormon is true. He just won’t come to church. He has been having problems with his Babies’ Mama. Jo never had a complete family, he was raised by his grandparents, then his grandmother died, so his grandfather was raised him. Eventually, stuff happened and he never had a complete family. And that’s what Jo wants for his kids, a father and a mother. But what kills me is that she is taking advantage of Jo. She is asking for money because she is “taking care” of their kids. While in reality, the kids are always with Jo. Jo can do much better, in my opinion; he has been emotional abused by his babies’ mama. He needs to break away from her and find someone else because he deserves so much more than her. But he is getting baptize because he has a testimony of the Book of Mormon despite the fact he doesn’t know it, but he just needs to find the strength to break all emotional ties with his children mama.
On a lighter note, I hate making frybread. Everyone found out that I’m Navajo and that I can make frybread, so they are like hey Hermana Beetso, can you make me frybread? So on Monday I made stew and frybread. That was a big hit, then a member was like, hey I want to try frybread. So I made it for her. She thought I was making tortilla,and she has this machine that makes it perfectly flat, but when I fried it, it didn’t look so great. Let’s just say I felt like I smelled like grease all week long.
This week my companion and I were knocking doors and someone finally slammed the door on me!!! It only took me 7 weeks!! My companion thought I was a freak because I was happy. Ive always heard stories but I finally experienced it!

"I Got God's Candy"
Hi everyone, this week was kinda interesting but not really. I am now in the great city of Plano, Texas! It is totally different than Carrollton, Texas. There are more homes than apartment buildings and it is hard to find Hispanics, but I will develop a nose to find time!
I am living with ward members at their house, and it is just Brother and Sister Kerry’s. They are very nice they are original from Texas (I think) but they don’t have that heavy Texan accent.
I have a new companion and her name is Hermama Richardson from UTAH! She has been out for 13 months and speaks pretty good Spanish (for sure better than mine).
On Wednesday night my companion and I got to teach the Young Women how to be missionaries! We taught them about prophets and the importance of prophets. I had the Beehives (12-14ish) and they didn’t even know what a prophet was. So it was just a miracle if they learned something. Then afterwards we got to paint pumpkins.
This past Halloween my companion and I went to the ward Trunk or Treat, and people thought being a sister was my costume. And other were like wow, it’s great to have sister in the ward again. But we weren’t in there ward because we don’t do English work only Spanish. We banked on candy, we never have to buy candy for the rest of this transfer and probably next. Well, after the trunk or treat we passed out candy at the member house we are living at. We passed out candy with pass-along cards taped to it. So then one girl was like “Mommy I got God's candy.” It was the cuties thing! Then we had some punk teenager knock on the door without customs, and I was like what are you suppose to be and one of them was like a robber. Then I’m like ok whatever.
Well, since I am new I really don’t know much about the people and there situations. But we have an investigator name Esperanza and Jo (Jose). They seem like they like the church but going to church is a different story. They have gone to church but were unable to come this past Sunday because their children were sick. (They aren’t married or dating but they are like best friends who don’t live with each other).
Honestly, I have no idea where the week went. It was hard yesterday because church starts at 2:30pm until 5:30 pm. I’m never going to forget yesterday because we went to a ward member house and guess what she made. She made her favorite dish, Meundo. Which is the grosses food ever invented! It was gross because there are some slimy parts to the dish, I felt like I was eating fish, which was still alive wiggling in my mouth. So I did whatever I could to mask the taste. I tried to put a whole bunch of cilantro, onions, lime, salt, and tortilla. But it was gross. The elders were impressed of how much we ate, because we ate more than them. My stomach was not happy afterwards. I think it was condemning me for putting so much in.
Well, everyone, my fingers are hurting from typing! So I hope that all ya’ll have a great day! I’m going to teach the elders how to play real basketball? Haha
