Grand Prairie, TX

Dear Everyone,
Hi! I am in the great City of Grand Prairie, Texas…its totally different than my other areas because it’s a lot smaller. I feel like I am in Maricopa.
P.S. I Miss Noe, he is now preparing to go on a MISSION!!! :D
I had another baptism this week with a young 9 year old girl name Alexis Cruz. Her mom was a less active member and she wasn’t baptized. So it was great to see her be baptized!
This week was a big blure because I still don’t know the area and the people. But I met this interesting lady name Carmen and she thinks that it is great that we were in an apostasy. Therefore no one had the power to baptize and she’s a very interesting person. I would say that she is a very happy lady and I don’t know if she even gets sad at like all.
Then we set a baptismal date with Ricardo, a 30 year old man who cares his Bible and Book of Mormon wherever he goes. He is very interesting, he wears his sunglasses during church and my new companion says that it is his security blanket. But he is coming to church and is getting baptized so I really don’t care what he wears. (as long it is modest).
Quote of the Week:
A young Boy is with his Dad at church.
The Dad: See there are sister missionaries. He (the young boy) thought that there were only boy missionaries. It shows you how much a 7 year old knows. :D

Baptism!!!

Hi everyone!
Well this week has been like the best week ever! We got Noe baptized! Last monday we commited him to be baptized on saturday and he said yes! We prayed every day that he would show up and he did. So it was amazing, 6 weeks of hard work and crying and dissapointment finally came to an end. And just in time because im being transfered!! During the baptizem some of the elders and my companion were singing a speical musica number "nearer my God to thee" and he started to cry. I was so happy!!! it was hard because we ran out of hot water so we had to boil some in the hot water in the kitchten and fill the font.
Oh yah...Jo got baptized the same day as Noe.
On sunday the Aranda family came to church!!!!! Plus Roberto, a part memeber family, came to church. Roberto is like the friend of Noe. In reality, Roberto knows that the Book of MOrmon is true. That is Sister Christensen goal is to get Roberto baptized in this next transfer.
Oh yah I have a new tio (uncle), he is Noe's uncle, and he is SO FUNNY!! He is old and doesnt remeber much...so he kept on asking Hna Christensen and I the same questions. WHere are you from and whats your name. I mean its so funny but he is great. He had some acoholc problems, so Hna Christensen and her new companion are going to AA with my new tio.
This week I was able to particpate in an exchange with the sisters in Carollton! so it was great because i was able to see some members from my 1st area! All the people we taught were new investigators and I have no idea who they are. But what I loved about it is that I was Hna Brooksby, who is a greenie (New Missionary). So it was great because she would look to me for answsers and i kinda had to spit something out. The great part is that I did, the Lord totally helped me out. That day, I really had the Gift of Toungs because everyone could understand what i was saying. Im really glad that i have the opportunity to go on exchanges becasue I know i will speak spainsh. I know that someday, with a lot of help with the LOrd i will speak perfect spanish. :D

16-32 degrees?? In Dallas??

Hi everyone!!!
Well his week was very interesting, for one thing it was about 16-32 degrees this week. Apparently, his has been he coldest winter in like 40 years. I guess the Lord is seeing if I really want to be here. We had a blitzs about a two weeks ago, and we contracted all those people. We had a lady name Ana Maria, she was was very receptive of our message, and she gave two pairs of Justin Cowboy boots to Hna. Christensen. I mean WOW. Then we went back and she look at us like we were the plague, but whatever.
We found a new investigator from Guatemala, his name is Edgar. He knows a lot about the Bible and he believes that we are in an Apostasy. If he can grasp the concept that we have a living prophet, he is Golden!
The previous elders taught this lady name Nancey, and they taught her a lot of the lessons, but really never progressed. We taught her and committed her to be baptized, but we knew she needs time before she can say yes. But we told her that she needs to pray to know if we are the only true church. She is a sweet lady, and deep down she knows that this is the right church.
We went and saw the Haranda Family, honestly, they could be baptized in a week! They know the Book of Mormon is true and they LOVE Joseph Smith. The only thing that is keeping them, is church! Its because Javier works at a car wash, and they are not financially stable. We try to do a lesson about faith and if they come to church, they will be ok. Seriously, they are ready, they just need the faith to come to church!
So, you heard of quickie marriages? We almost had a quicky baptism with Noe! We did not see Noe for like a whole week! We were getting worried, but he came to church. We were afraid that he wouldnt come to church! But he did! So, we told the bishop if Noe come to church we are filling the font! And we almost did. He had his baptismal interview and he passed. Hence, he is ready for baptism! But he said he wants to wait till next week. Well, we are going to see him tonight and commit him to get baptized this Saturday and to post pone it. Because we dont want him to lose that desire to be baptized.

Good News:)

Hi Everyone,
JOE IS GETTING BAPTIZTED NEXT WEEK!!! yah, he is getting baptizted next week. I saw Hermana Richardson and she set a date. So I guess Hna Richarson was teaching Jo and some Jehova Witness came to the door and Jo started to teach them about prophets. And how we have a living prophet like old. So im excited that he is finally getting baptized!! :D
Well this week has been stressful because we had another Date with Noe but that didn't go though because he isnt ready. He knows that getting baptized is what he needs to do but he doesn't have that firm testimony about God and who he is. I know that he will be baptized but it is just going to be a little longer than we expect.
This week we saw the familia Haranda. They are so ready to get baptized but they have to go to church first. The problem is that he doesnt have paper and is afraid of asking for the day off but I know that if they go, they will love church! They just need to get to church!
Other than that, we just did a lot of stop by and to see how everyone was doing. I love the holidays but at the same time I hate it because no one has time to meet with us. Sorry its so short but I dont have much time on the computer. But next week will make up for this week.
