Sorry I didn’t write a letter last week so I’ll try to make it up this week! Last week we had Leo baptism and I cant believe that he got baptized. At first Hermana Klienman and I weren’t very sure if he even truly wanted this but as I can see change in him within a few weeks. I see that he really wants to change and see that this is an important step and he knows that conquences of his actions. And I love how he takes responsibility for what he has done in then past and is trying to make a new way. Its funny because he said that we are “Homies” now and that we are going to hang after the mission. Leo is pretty darn funny.
Oh on a random note, I lost my fashcard for my camera so that means 11 months of pictures are gone but thank goodness I have companions and that I can just seal from them! :D
So guess who else got baptized? EThAN!!!! Sister Martin and I were just starting at each other because we never thought this day would come! We were still in aww when he was literally in the baptismal font and still couldn’t believe it! The sad thing is that Hermana Finnell wasn’t in our pictures because she went home! Because she has a broken foot and she couldn’t proselyte despite the fact she is in a car, it’s the getting from one door to the next. I miss Hermana Finnell so bad! I just cant wait till she come back so we can create some trouble for the mission.
This week we were able to meet with a young woman name Monica Guzman, we found her knocking doors. We met with her once before but doesn’t believe that God loves her; she believes that everything that went wrong with her is because of God. She says that it’s God’s fault that her husband is in Mexico and probably never going to come into the States to be with her and their kids. But she admits that the trials that she went though have made her strong but she still doesn’t get that though prayer and reading she can feel the Savior’s love for here. But she started to pray, in like years and she felt a little different. We were just trying to promise her blessings that she will get to know the savior and his love for her. She just needs to start off with the little things. And we just told her only by the small little things we can start to do the big things. And we told her it starts with prayer.
Yesterday we met with Michelle! Hermana Klienman and I love Michelle! She wants to know the truth but she does not want to be pushed at all. She doesn’t want any pressure…hm…that sounds like the Navajo people! I swear Hispanic and Navajo are the same people but just a different language. Anyways, we were teaching her the 5 steps that we all need to take. Faith, Repentence, baptism, Gift of the Holy Ghost, and Endure to the End. We got up to Repentance, but her friend Gabi was there, and Gabi is a recent convernt of like 4 months. And Gabi was asking all types of good questions, like the War in Heaven, and how do we know if it is our thoughts or the Thoughts of the Holy Ghost. So it took up most of the time but we just told Michelle that when she gets an answer that she needs to act upon it, and not ignore it, but Michelle knows why we are their and we have Gabi an awesome recent convert to help her every step of the way. Well, we always got to met with Iris, and she is so ready to get baptized but she wants to wait until July 11, because everyone is out of town, well at least the people she wants to met with. Its just a matter of time. When we ment with her she said that her mom could see a difference in her, because Iris started to do the little things, like pray, read, and going to church. Even her mom asked her if she was doing drugs…hahaha. But I know that the gospel changes lives, we just need to start it and then the Lord will pour out his blessings on us. Until next week!
Oh yah, I love everyone but I get annoyed when people say yah I know how to make frybread its so easy!! And im like….no its not. Because I
was at dinner at a members house and my companion was like yah we make Navajo Tacos all the time, but they use doughnut dough for their Navajo Tacos…and im thinking,….thats not Navajo Tacos…haha. So I have to thank my mom and grandma and my other aunts for teaching me the real way to make Navajo Tacos.
