Hi everyone! I love being in Texas but some days I miss Arizona. For example, I do not like the humidity. I miss my dry heat and that’s about it….well for now. Maybe a mall, because where I am there is no mall. My 1st reaction to Grand Prairie, Texas was I am serving out in the country!!! But we kinda are but we aren’t. I guess it is still a city.
Always, what happened this week? Hm…? We were contacting people that the elders taught, and we went back to our appointment with a woman name Ismerald. She grew up in the States but she is Mexican, but she was born here. She is married to a Mexican who doesn’t speak a lick of English so it has been hard for them to find a church. So we explained that out church services is in Spanish and she loved the idea. So she doesn’t have to translate for her husband. We were talking to her and she was telling us how she had a child die and a grandchild die. She was devastated but we shared the plan of salvation with her. She absolute loved it, she was even crying because of the Hope that the Plan of Salvation brings. What I love about the Plan of Salvation is we know exactly where we came from and where we are going. There is no surprised, at all.
Oh yah, we taught Leo about the Word of Wisdom and the Law of Chastity! Leo was a bit surprised about the new commandments but he is
pretty open to live them. Leo took it well, a lot better than we thought he was going to take it. Then he said he was going to try to live the law of chaisty and word of wisdom. He is trying to be a punk adult and tryin to act like he is all that. But in reality I think he is a big softy, and he truly wants to change.
We taught Leo twice this week, and we taught him after a baptism, and he says he is ready to get baptized. And he understands the convent that he is taking. He was telling us about his pass and how he wants to leave things in the past. Then we just expressed how repentance is such a great gift from God.
So I love tracking, because you never know the people that you are going to run into. For example, we were knocking on this door and we
were doing the regular Hi my name is Sister Beetso … and then this lady was like HI I’m Catholic. For a second I was like that’s a really weird name. then I got it…she is Catholic and how she doesn’t want to change her religion. Then we just started to ask her what is your heritage? And guess what she said? SHE IS NAVAJO and something else. Then I was like WOW me 2!!! Then we started a whole conversation about how she misses frybread. Then she told us that she grew up in Albuquerque, NM. Then I was like I be you miss the green chilie? And she was like you have no idea. Then I said, yes I do! I haven’t had green chilie in over a year. She I haven’t had it in like 5 years. Anyways, Hermana Klienman was so confused. (She’s from Utah…I still love her). Long story short, I was able to bond with her and she was able to somewhat change her mind and let the elders come and teach her.
I just love meeting the random people in the street. For example, I saw three men stand outside of a RX7. then I was like Hermana Klienman
stop! Im going to contact these people, so she stop the car and I got out. Then I started talking about the car I was to buy, like to EVO.
But not the current design and how I want the original design. Then I was talking about if I could get any carr what car would I get? And I
said I would get a Porche 911, turbo charge. The guys were pretty impressed. Then I started talking all the car ling I know off. Which
all of you know me, it isn’t very much. But good thing they didn’t know that. So always, long story short, they were like yah sure you can come back and share a massage about where is Christ Church. I love doing random conacting. I love how all the random knowledge that I have, is coming in hand. For example, checking tire pressures. Knowing random stuff about cars, and knowing random scriptures, and driving in the snow, for that matter, living in the snow. Oh yah trying to drink a gallon of water a day so that I won’t pass out! I’m glad that
Arizona has got me in that habit of drinking that much water in a day! Well Everyone I love and miss you!!!
Love Always,
Hermana Annie Beetso
Quote of the Week:
Random Guy: Where are you from?
Hermana Beetso: I am from this continent.
Random Guy: Japan?
Random Guy younger brother: That’s not on this continent.
