Hi everyone! I hope that everyone had a great day! So last week I decide what my new career is going to be? Are you ready? I am going to be a professional bowler! Last preparation day we went bowling and I scored like 112! Ive never bowled over 100 in my life! And the elders were impressed and I bet out the two missionaries who used to take bowling as a class! I was very proud of my self or im going to sell ice cream!! Haha. Mom, dad! Im just kidding!! Im going to do that after I finish school!
This week, we had a baptism! Alex Lucio , a 9 year old boy was baptized and his whole entire family came! We are reactiving his family though their son Alex. Alex was very nervous but really excited at the same time, so he got baptized and it was fun a cute! Elder Jones, an elder in the same branch was asked to give the talk but he was late! I told the Hermano who was conducting that Elder Jones was on his way but he just started the baptism without him! We totally freaked out because Hna. Klienman and I had no back up plan! So Elder Jones came back in the nick of time! So, it was probably one of the stress-free baptisms I’ve ever had!
We also met with Leo! He had to have a special interview because he has done stuff in his past, so he had an appointment with someone in the mission. And leo was late! We were totally freaken out that Leo wasn’t going to be there but he showed up! Hermana Klienman and I were worried that he wouldn’t pass his interview or that he would need more time. But we got a call from President Brigman that Leo can get baptized! So all that doubt we had was no longer there because we know that Leo has the right intentions to get baptized. At first we thought he was just getting baptized just because it was something you just have to do, like he is checking something off on a checklist but now, we know he wasn’t to do it for the right reasons.
It was funny, this week we saw an investigator that we haven’t been able to contact since my 1st week back in Grand Priarie, Beatrice and Arellio! But I think it was Beatrice’s mother was visiting from Monterrey, Mexico. Usually, people are like yah come back family is here. But Arellio was like come in come in and do your thing, talk about your church. So we talked to Beatice’s mom and she seems interested but the thing is she is only visiting. So we got her information and we are sending it down to Mexico so that the missionaries in México can start teaching here there! I love when investigator give referrals! It is a breath of fresh air from the regular yah this person isn’t a member go visit them!
We also got to visit with a man name Luis, and Luis is ALWAYS drunk as a skunk. And if he isn’t drinking he always buzzed or in the middle of a hang over. The bad thing about this is that he has heath problem and if he doesn’t stop drinking the doctors says that he is only going to be living for only another 5 years!! And he is kinda young, like 44ish. So we caught him and we got to talk to his sister Irma. And we went over the Plan of Salvation and why were here. Irma gets it, she knows that she needs to be baptized, and she knows that his is the only true church. But she even admits that she is lazy and she doesn’t want to come to church! She knows that she needs to go but she doesn’t want to do it! So our biggest challenge is getting her to church! And when she does I know that she will get baptized. Its so sad because she knows that she needs to give thanks to the Lord by going to church! But I have hope!
We also got to met with Iris, she is the girlfriend or a member. Iris is 19 years old and her boyfriend is 20 years old. Iris lives in Arlington part of the time and Grand Prairie part of the time but she wants to get baptized in the Grand Prairie branch. Iris knows that baptism is important and she has a small testimony about our church and she has been going to church on a regular bases but she doesn’t feel ready so we set a date with her for a month from yesterday. She says by that time she will be ready to make such a commitment but we think she is ready now, like she could get baptized on this Sunday but we don’t want to pressure her. We don’t want her to rush thing so we are just going to encourage her to change her date for sometime this month!
On a random note Ethan IS GETTING BAPIZTED THIS Saturday and im going back to Carrollton for his baptism. Im excited! Well, everyone I hope that you have a great week! I love you all! And I'm gald to hear that Coco Chanel is no longer running around Arizona!
Love Always,
Hermana Annie Beetso
Quote of the Week:
