Wedding Cake!

So first of all I am going to send a shot out to Kelly Serago for teaching me how to make a cake. On Saturday the branch was having a spaghetti dinner so someone bought us tickets. So we went, then afterwards the Elders were like we have a wedding! Then we were like is there anything that we can do to help? Then one of the elders was like how about make a cake! This is 4 hours before the wedding and we had an appointment with Ricardo! Yah we kinda felt pressure! So the elders didn’t want to spend too much money on a cake so we made one! And Guess who's recipe I used? KELLY’s!!!!!! so I made it, it’s a secret so im not going to tell how I made it. In conclusion we were pressed for time! But it got done. Everyone loved it! I bet no one would believe that it was a box cake! So Kelly I love you for teaching me that recipe! (I'm still waiting to hear from you)

Well, maybe I should have mentioned that im leaving! So yesterday, during sacrament meeting the bishop made us bare our testimony infront of everyone! I was super nervous because I've never said anything in Spanish in church! But I was truly blessed with the gift of tongs because everyone could semi understand what I was saying. OH yah, I tried to introduce my self in Navajo because everyone still thinks I'm from china. But it totally butchered it. Good thing only about 100,000 people know the language and no one that understands Navajo was there! Hehehe….

So we said our good byes! We saw Carmen and Jose. That was hard because I started to cry, because right at this moment they aren’t going to progress. But we planted a seed. Jose was like I'm Catholic and I'm not going to change my ways, but he said he would listen. And we taught him and really got him thinking about more about the foundation of Christ church. He said that he admires us because we practice what we preach. And that we are willing to spend time to help other people to know Christ. He also said that he has a relationship with God. That he knows who God is and the nature of God. That God is someone we can talk to, not just a figure that is unreachable. I know that I did my job. At this time they might not be ready for baptism but I know someday they will.

Now, Ricardo. We had a lesson with him on Wednesday night and he was being a complete punk. Lets just say that it’s a good thing that I'm not fluent in Spanish or I would have said some stuff that wouldn’t have been so nice. I mean he was so shut off, that he didn’t want to listen to anything that we were saying. Then before I reached that point, our members came in. Honestly they saved Ricardo from my rath! But the members that came into our lessons are converts and they expressed that they also had doubts. That he just needs to have faith that every thing will be good. That his life will change for the better. That we can just do everything in one big step but just little by little.

Then we set up another appointment with Ricardo and he did another 180. He said the word he hates the most! Baptism!!! I wouldn’t move on the lesson until he said that word! But he has a little way more to go, but he will be baptized, just not on his date.

So, the sisters are leaving Grand Paririe and elders are coming in. According to the Bishop they are getting “smelly ugly elders”. Haha. Because this will be the 1st time this branch wont have sister in like 2 or 3 years. So but one day the sisters will return!

Quote of the Week:

Elder Shirk: This week announcements it’s Elder King birthday!

Sister Beetso: Elder King how old are you going to be?

Elder King: 21

Elder Mitchell: Your older than me!

Elder King: Now, if I get in trouble I get to go to Adult Jail
