We Are Literal Children of Our Heavenly Father

Hi everyone! This week was very interesting, I went to a funeral this week, because she was a member of the English Ward. Plus, she made us cake when I was here (in Sept) she made all the sister a cake. And it was a good cake but it tasted like her house, more like it tasted like smoke. (She was airing out the house because she was a smoker for the past 30 years and trying to go to the temple). So we went to that funeral and it was kinda a unspoken battle between the Mormons and the Baptist. Her name is Sister Redo, the lady that past away, and her whole family is Baptist. At the request of the family, they held the services at the Dallas 6^th Chapel building(where we meet for church) and had a informal open mic. But no one went up to the pubit to say anything. At one point I felt like I was feeling condemn but the reason is because people don’t know the true nature of God. People tend to forget that we are all children of our LOVING Heavenly Father. That we are literal his children and he doesn’t want to have the image of a vengeful God. But like any parent, they have to show disaplen to their children if they aren’t being obedient. And God is the same way, we aren’t always going to get what we want but what we need. Thank you mom and dad, I finally get it..haha. :D so anyways, needless to say that one of Sister Redo’s brother felt the spirit, he felt like we were different. So he wants to learn more but we haven’t had the opportunity to find or teach him. I guess we are just going to ask Brother Redo.J

Anyways, last week we met with Kay and her son Joshua. Remember Joshua is our 8 year old investigator? Lets just say that he is our smartest investigator. We were going over the Aposisty, when there were no prophets on the earth. Then we asked him, so after Jesus Christ and the 12 Apostles were killed what do we need? And he said God needs to send another Prophet! And we were like WOW! He really is our smartest investigator and we set a baptismal date with him, in April 22! So we are soaked for him to get baptized!

So we had a crazy lesson with Maria and Mario. Maria is the mother and Mario is a 16 year old guy. Then when we stopped by we met the father. So we were trying to tell him about the Book of Mormon and how it was to come about. So what I did is I started to tell him its about our ancestors! Because he is from Hondoras and somehow we came up the conclusion that he is my cousin! Because we are both some type of American Indian! So then Mario’s friend came in to hang out with Mario. So then I was talking to the Dad, Hna Finnell was talking to Mario and while Hna Brooksby was talking to Mario’s friend. While at the same time Maria was yelling at Mario for being catholic and that our church is the only true church on the earth today because we have a prophet and 12 apostles. Like the same church Christ establish when he was on the earth. It was funny because we were tag teaming! So when one person got done we would switch people! That was a ton of fun!

Then we saw Rosie the lady that loves me because I’m Native American. And she talked to her family about becoming Mormon and she got the response she was expecting. Her family not wanting her to join, but she knows the church and Book of Mormon is true. And Joseph Smith was called to be a prophet of God, because she prayed to ask God. And she got her response and going though with the action! And getting baptized!!!

We met with Margarita, and she knows the church is true, her sister is an active member of the church. Her whole family are like members but she isn’t. the elders would get scared off because of her looks(she is very pretty). So they stop coming by, so we taught her the lesson, practically all of them. But she is going back to Columbia, tomorrow, she wants to move to America because its a little better than Columba. For her, its just a matter of time before she gets baptized.

Yesterday we met with a couple, her name is Amber and her boyfriend is name Sean. Amber was baptized when she was 17 and she is now 21, while Sean is about 18 or 19. Amber is pregnant and she is due is May. Right now her and her boyfriend are living in a InTown Suite. So, it was fun! We met them for the 1^st time and we just got to know them. Amber wants to be a nurse while Sean wants to be an engineer! They both have high hopes! Plus, Amber wants to become temple worthy and be sealed to her family forever! She knows that she needs to stop doing some “habits” and get married. She is planning on getting married before her baby is born! Sean just did a 180 while we were teaching a lesson. We were talking about how our body is a temple is that is the many reason why we don’t smoke, drink, etc. and we asked him the question, would you put a huge metal stick in the temple? And he was like no, so by the end of the lesson he took out is lip ring! Ah! And they both committed to stop smoking and drinking! I’m super excited for this couple! Sean is going to get baptized and get sealed to Amber! And live forever together! (HINT!!!! YOU KNOW WHO IM TALKING ABOUT!!!!)
