Hi! How are we doing this week! Im great because I am still staying in Grand Prairie, Texas for another 6 week with Hermana Kleinman! Its weird because I have yet to stay in a area for this long, but we will see what is going to happen! I am excited to see what the Lord has in store for us!
This week we were able to visit the familia Vazquez and I got to talk with Luis, the ddad but it was way heard because their whole family was at the house. You know its kinda like when us Navajo get to get together to eat, loudness and food! Well, just like the native way, the kids were eating 1st and the kids were at the table and the daughter who is 4 just said the prayer to bless the food! It was so cute! Then one of the little girls that were their said something in Spanish but I didn’t get it because I wasn’t playing attention and then Luis, the son was like you cant say that, that commandment number 3!!! I was like the gospel has really changed the life of this family! And im super excited because soon that whole family will be seal together, in the temple. But the only problem is that Luis doesn’t believe in our church but he is still holding to his tradition, or the Catholic Church, despite the fact all of his family members are recent coverts or waiting to get baptized in our church. He doesn’t believe in our church because he has never really prayed and really hasn’t read. But he told his wife that one day he will get baptized, but in his time. With Louis I know that he will push we just need to stop pressuring him, but the more pressure we put on him the more it will turn him always from the church.
This week we met with an awesome young 24 year old young man name Luis who is from El Salvador and he lives with his uncle and they have been living in the states for about 2 years. We found Luis knocking doors and we said that we could come in and hey actually read! We left him a pamphlet and he read it and he had questions! And then he is totally open to the Book of Mormon and he loved the 1st lesson. We went back to his apartment for another appointment but we went to the wrong door! Hahaha, so two days later we went back to that same apartment complex for another appointment but she wasn’t there so we decide that we were going to walk around to find Luis’s apartment, and we did! We totally found it! We were in the wrong building so we stopped by the next day because he wasn’t home. So we found him and we got to talk with him and his uncle and they told us that they were going to church, but they didn’t come. Now, we are going to go back and see why they didn’t come.
So, on Saturday night we were waiting for transfer calls then all of a sudden someone knocks on our door, and this was at like 10pm. Then I say who is it? Then he says, Robert? Then I was like Robert who? He said, Robert who has been drinking too much and needs God. So I looked at my companion and she was like open it. Then come to find out he really had been drinking way too much and he said that he wanted us to pray for him because he knows that we are missionaries so he asked us to pray for him. So I totally freaked out and I prayed for him and while I was praying he was like AMEN AMEN! WOW, then I asked him if there is anything that we can do for him and he said I’m hungry. So I made him a PB and J sandwich. Yah…that something I’m totally going to remember. Well everyone, I hope that you have a great week! I love and miss you!
