HI everyone! So something amazing and something new is happening! I am staying in Carrollton for another transfer! I will be staying in Carrollton with two other companions, but Sister Brooksby is leaving. Atleast I will be staying with Sister Finnell, tomorrow we pick up our new companion at transfer meeting.
This week we went and visisted Magolina. She has a testimony that the Book of Mormon is true but she is obligated to keep on going to her church because her daughter is going to have a quincearea! Because she already put down over a couple of hundred dollars for the event, so we don’t know what we are going to do about it….eh… but yah…it sucks.
We also go to see Silva and Carlos! We were in a lesson and Silva’s moms actually listen to what we had to say. At the end of the lesson we were talking about Silva Baptismal date, then her mom asked her but you were baptized. Then Silva started to explain to her mom that her baptism wasn’t valued because they didn’t have the proper authority! It was a bitter sweet moment because 1. Silva’s mom looked like she was going to cry. 2. Silva got it and that she needs to be baptized by the proper authority!
We met a new man name Ferando! Fernando is kinda crazy just because he tell’s everyone about his personal life. A member picked Fernando up, from his house, to take him to church. So the member only knew Fernando for like about 10 mins and Fernando basically told her, his whole life story. Especially the bad… but we met with him once, and he understands the stuff he needs to do to receive Eternal Life!
Oh! We met with Sean, the 19 year old man who is going to marry a less active member in the church. We got to see him twice this week, we were on splits but I didn’t get to see him the 1st time but I heard the lesson went very well. While the 2nd time we went over the Plan of Salvation and he was confused about how there is more than just a Heaven and A Hell, that from the Bible we know that there are Three Kingdoms of Glory! We need him to stop smoking and get him married so we can baptized him.
So here is the Highlight of my mission. His name is Ethan. Ethan is a 19 year old medial referral who requested a Bible. So we were in the area and we stop by Ethan’s house but he wasn’t home so we just dropped of the Bible with him mom. His mom looked at us very awkward and he said he would give Ethan the book. So the next day we get a phone call from Ethan and he told us he wanted to know more about the Book of Mormon! And we were like SCORE!!!!
So we went to his house and Ethan was basically ready to Bible Bash with us. He was like I found some inconsistency with the Book of Mormon. Explain how this and those…we were pretty shocked because Ethan is a very smart kid and he knows like EVERYTHING about the Bible. But we just told him well, we are not here to convict you about the truth of the Book of Mormon. We just ask everyone to pray to know with a REAL INTENT and having a OPEN HEART and you will know. Ethan is a scientific if there is no proof I know its not true. So I asked him, with the Peroditic Table, how many elements did we start off with? And he said about 16 and I was like yah! And now how many do we have now? And he is like over 100. Exactly, science is still growing there is a lot that we don’t know or can explain but if you step out of your box, and stop thinking scientifically you will know the truth of all things. In conclusion we left, because it could have gotten very ugly very fast.
So we stop thinking about ethan, then we get another call from Ethan and said he was coming to church and asked how can he join our church. He asked if he needed to bring his baptismal records. Then I explained to him that he needs to get re-baptized… :D and he said ok…when can I get baptized? Then I told him that he needs to take the 4 lessons and come to church for 3 Sundays. And he said about the lesson if we can finish them in a week! I was like ok! Then he came to church and already started talking about missionary work. And how he wants to join now, so that in a year that he can be a missionary! I was shocked… and he wanted to know more about temples and tithing and everything! He is a little sponge and we are going to try to feed him as much knowledge as we can!
So we met with Kay and Joshua this week but they didn’t come to church. We have an appointment to met with them tonight and see why they didn’t come…blah! But other than that we are practically done with all the lessons. We just have to finish up a couple of commandments like Word of Wisdom…etc!
Well I love you all! And of course I miss you!
Love Always,
Hna Beetso
Quote of the Week:
Elder Robers: He [an investigator] says that he doesn’t need to be baptized. Apparently, he hasn’t read the Bible. :D that’s my zone leader
