Dear Everyone,
So this week was a ton of fun! I got to take out some of the new missionaries and we got to see Siliva! We taught Silva and her mom the Word of Wisdom. She says that she will live the Word of Wisdom but the biggest problem is COFFEE! She doesn’t see the harm in drinking coffee but it actually does more harm than good. We explained that coffee is an addiction and is a hard habit to break and of course that we can see that.
Then transfers meetings came and I have another new companion, Hermana Martin! Hermana Martin is from California and she used to work at Disneyland! Hermana Martin, Hermana Finnell, and I are all in a companionship still doing English and Spanish work. Thus, we can see Joshua baptism!
Joshua is getting baptized this Saturday and his dad is coming up from Houston, Texas so he can baptize his son. This is a very joyous moment and I think im giving a talk but im not sure about what. Plus, all three of us are sing a song but im not sure what…I think it would be important to know what im talking about and what song we are singing. Joshua is the cuites little boy ever, with his blonde hair and blue eyes. Joshua is trying to find a sport that he likes; he has tried Soccer, Karate, and other sports. I suggest to Kay that he should play volleyball. And she said that there is clearly a guy and girl sport. Then I tried to explain that they have some really good players on the Men’s BYU team…yah Kay wasn’t too happy. I wasn’t winning any brownie points with her when I suggest that he should play volleyball. Then I said I could see Joshua playing football and Joshua said but I can’t. It was the funniest thing ever! Hahaha.
Oh we met with Ethan again…he is finally getting the concept that maybe he doesn’t know as much as he thinks. Ethan has so many good questions but some time it isn’t relevant to what we are talking about. Because we met with Ethan twice and he couldn’t grasp the concept of that Heavenly Father has a body and that he and the Holy Ghost and Jesus Christ are not one person. But possible (thinking in his mind) that they are three separate beings. The member where we were having the lesson at wanted to yell at him because he wouldn’t shut up and he is somewhat lacking the faith. Because all he wants is physical proof and is lacking to see the spiritual side of things. But honestly, Ethan has grown so much since the 1st time we met with him. Ethan wants to learn more because each time we met with him is heart is open a little more. With Ethan once it clicks in his mind and start having some faith, he will be a great member of the church, and will be a very good missionary. I think that they would send him out to Europe because he knows everything about the Old and New Testament.
We also had the opportunity to met with Fernando! Fernando is a very interesting person because he is very open about his personal life and about his marriage. Let’s just say he likes to share a bit too much that what most people like to hear. Anyways, he is coming to church and he likes our church but with Fernando I think, he thinks that all churches are good and that we are just part of that. But he has gone to Gospel Principles and is starting to understand that we are the only true church that has the power to baptize people, because it was lost for a point in time in history. So we are going to go back and see if he understands that we are the only true church that has the power and authority to act in God’s name. And if so, we are going to set a date with him!
Jamie and Hector are family members of a lot of the ward members. All of Jamie’s sisters are member and she is the last person in her family that isn’t a member; Hector is Jamie’s son. So we went over to their house and they said that when they know that the things we are sharing with them is true, they are going to enter the water of baptism! So they came to church and I was very excited but they only stayed for 3 hours because their dad went to the wrong church. He went to the service in English at a different building. They said that they were going to stay all three hours next time, and we have an appointment with them and we will see how their experience was.
I can’t believe that another week has come and gone. Last week I hit my 9 month mark! So that means I am only downhill from here. I am starting to be one of those crusty missionaries. J
Love Always,
Hermana Annie Beetso
Quote of the Week: BLAST FROM THE PAST
We had to leave my aunt’s house but the microwave was still going. So my dad suggests that I just unplug it. So I did. And the microwave was still going.
Annie: Uh..i think you microwave is posed. *then I walk out of the room*
Dad: She unplugged the blender
