I'M MOVING!

Dear Everyone!
Well I’m leaving the great area of Plano, Texas! I was sad but then I know that I am wanted somewhere else. Hermana Richardson is staying here in Plano and she is training a brand new sister missionary. She is arriving today in Texas, so tomorrow she is going to be picking her up and taking her back to Plano. As for me, I have no idea where I am going. So, it is such a great surprise! Yah!!!
Sadly, Jo did not come to church yesterday. He said he was getting a new car but he didn’t get it so that’s why he didn’t come. But we are going to visit him tonight and set a baptismal date with him. Jo needs to get baptized and I think he knows that he also needs to get baptized too. We were teaching him on Saturday and we were going over the 5 steps that we need to do to get back to the presence of God.
1. Faith in Jesus Christ
2. Repentance
3. Baptism (With the Authority)
4. The Gift of the Holy Ghost
5. Endure to the End
When we got to the part about Baptism, he was like so does that mean I have to get baptized? And Hermana Richardson was like, “What do you think?” and Jo was like I was baptized when I was a baby. I felt so bad because we didn’t have much time to go over authority and how no other church has the authority to baptize people in the name of Jesus Christ. So, we have an appointment with Jo tonight and we will review authority and set a baptismal date. I’m so excited for Jo!!
Well this week we only had one person come to sacrament meeting, and his name is Juan and we found him tracking. He is a very intelligent man, and he is studying to be a preacher or minister. So we taught him about God is our loving Heavenly Father, and about prophets and he gets it. We didn’t have to share anything new, because he knew it all. But what got him interested was Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. We invited him to church and he couldn’t come to the Spanish Branch so we took him to the English Ward at 9am. When we got to his house he was dressed up like any other ward member. He had a tie, brown shirt, black pants. I mean he was ready and I think he loved it! We didn’t have much time to talk to him because he had to leave right after sacrament meeting to get to work. So Sister Richardson has an appointment with Juan this Tuesday night. Im excited to see what come out. I mean if he can grasp the concept of a modern day prophet, he would have no problem joining the church.
This week we found 5 new investigators, 4 of them live in the same apartment. Their names are Maria, Abel, Manuel, and Joaquin. Joaquin is a tree cutter and he was working at the LDS church building before we had a meeting. The Elders talked to him and gave us his information. So we took a sister from the English ward (she served her mission in Paraguay, I think). Then it was just 5 people then slowly and slowly more people came in. By the end of the night there was over 15 people in a small apartment! They were all dressed very nicely, with ties and nice shirts. And on top of that they had scripture cases!!!! I thought only Mormons had scripture cases. So we had to leave because we had another appointment!! We were so disappointed that we had to leave, so we made another appointment and invited the Zone Leaders to come. We were expecting just as many people, so we wanted to be well armed! One Elder described it as a Bible Study and to be careful because some religions like to bash. But when we came back the next night, there were only 4 people. I was kinda disappointed but then it was good, because it filtered out the people. I mean these people really do have potential to become members because they truly want to know to God.
So Gordon B. Hinckely said, “We need some young women [to go on missions]. They perform a remarkable work. They can get into homes where the elders can’t.” and this quote is so true, I found out this week. Hna Richardson and I were trying to find this family that kinda ditched us, so as we were walking we found this man, John, and he was just sitting outside smoking. Then we started to talk to him and he seemed very open to us. We talked to him for about 30mins just answering all the questions he has, so then he gave us his house number and we said we would come back later. We come to find out that he disappeared! He was one of the English Elders somewhat investigator! We found someone! Then the elders came with us to visit John and John just totally gave the elders the cold shoulder and would like only talk to us. So sister really can get into doors that elders can’t!
Well everyone I hope that all ya’ll have a great week!
Love Always,
Hermana Tiana Beetso
Quote of the Week:
Hermana Beetso: I just lost my scriptures! Is this how you feel when you lose a child?
Hermana Richardson: I don’t think it is quite the same feeling.
